Here’s a fun fact for you to increase your knowledge and vocabulary - the name “Australia” comes from the Latin word “australis,” meaning southern. A country which has a diverse range of terrains and wildlife, there are even some creatures in Australia that are nothing short of a puzzle - such as the Duck-Billed Platypus - an egg-laying, furry mammal!
Due to its large size and isolation from the rest of the world, Australia is sometimes known as the ‘island continent’ and the outback of Australia covers most of its land mass. The Great Barrier Reef is also a sight to behold and is found off the north-eastern coast of Australia.
